Jej Portret 07:53
Lyrics translation:Jej Portret What you're truly like, no one knows As you don't know that yourself In a dance of those grey mirrored days shines your gold like laugh a tender gesture stopped half way through In my memory I try to put together The solitaire of nothing but hearts What you're truly like, no one knows and that truth is of no need to me If it's not going to be destined for us to walk the same way I'll cary the scent of your dreams, the drawing of your lips, the color of your words The unfinished , perfect portrait of You I will raise it and rescue it Whether you're near me or not My amulet of your sudden daydreams and eyelashes You've been bestowed upon me, my dearest And if you ever say to me: forgive I'll go through life constantly looking back

Ciebie Brak 07:08
Lyrics translation:Ciebie Brak Like a forgotten dream like an imaginary dawn I still breathe you in slowly disappearing I seemed to have lost my sorrow ...the absence of you Like an unfinished movie I still remember your voice In these empty words I fail to understand they're slowly disappearing I seemed to have lost my sorrow ...the absence of you

Tomaszów 06:21
Lyrics translation:Tomaszow Maybe we should , my dear, come back to Tomaszow for a day Maybe still within the golden dusk, the same september peacefulness lasts In that white house, in that room, where someone else's furniture reside We have to finish our sadly never ended conversation So maybe we should, my dear, come back to Tomaszow for a day Maybe still within the golden dusk, the same september peacefulness lasts There is only one salty drop flowing from my eyes to my lips But you won't give me an answer, you are only eating those green grapes That white house, that dead room, it wonders till this day, it doesn't understand Why the other furniture have been put in, why did people leave in wistfulness But we have left everything there, even that september peacefulness So maybe we should, my dear, come back to Tomaszow for a day

Pożegnanie 06:55
Lyrics translation:Pozegnanie Sleep, forget mallows and lilacs Sleep, as tomorrow will not be the same may bugs, the scent of rain won't matter anymore Even sand in your shoes means nothing That day you'll look back and you won't remember how strange the shadow was Sleep, forget the scent of moss Wild strawberries won't taste the same bruised knees don't scare you nettles don't sting but to be moved by a story becomes forbidden That day you'll look back and you'll fail to recognise what happiness is

about

Agata Kubiak is a Polish singer, violinist, and composer who's music fuses a diverse range of influences (including Jazz, Classical, Rock, Folk, and Sung Poetry) into a personal language; at once unique and accessible, vulnerable and passionate, whether singing in Polish or English.

In Polarity – her début album - her two quartets (string and jazz) come together. She called it Polarity to symbolise her constant struggle between the two worlds (classical and jazz) that make up her musical life: Every attempt to focus on one style of music left her longing for the other. Polarity amalgamates it all: vocal and violin, classical music and jazz, Poland and England, the duality which is the strong creative force behind all of this young artist's work.
